The Indigenous Procurement Policy(IPP) has helped Indigenous-owned businesses immensely, as the purpose of the policy is to stimulate Indigenous entrepreneurship, business, and economic development, providing Indigenous Australians with more opportunities to participate in the economy.

Prior to the implementation of the policy, Indigenous enterprises secured limited business from commonwealth procurement and this policy has leveled the playing field. The policy is intended to significantly increase the rate of purchasing from Indigenous enterprises.

The mandatory set-aside built into the IPP makes it easier for federal and state government agencies and not-for-profits to contract with Indigenous-owned businesses by avoiding federal and state government standard procurement processes. This has helped Indigenous businesses win contracts valued at over $3 billion to 2020.

Patonga Projects is Australia’s leading Indigenous ICT company and is grateful for the opportunities the policy provides. We are a forward-thinking and agile business and cognisant of the fact that we need to continuously improve our superior ICT delivery capabilities and experience.

Our Supply Nation certification also means that we have a covenant to give back to Indigenous Australians. This means we build employment, training, and professional networking opportunities for Indigenous employees into every ICT contract that we enter. This ensures that Indigenous people have a place in the converged future worlds of business and technology. While being proud of and relying on our 60,000 years of cultural learning, we look forward to thriving in the digital world.

Patonga Projects continues to forge strong delivery, software and consultancy partnerships with like-minded IT Services organisations who share our values and our commitment to the Indigenous people of Australia.

We look forward to delivering key ICT services to government, not-for-profits and corporations that generate enterprise value facilitated by the most innovative of managed services technologies with key skills in cybersecurity, cloud and data analytics.

We have rich delivery capability, certifications and experience in these fields which is evidenced in our case studies and, importantly, we can help you reach your Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) and Reconciliation Action Program (RAP) targets.
